On March 12, 2020, the 2020 Seabrook Lucky Trail Event was cancelled to ensure the safety of our community from the spread of COVD-19.
After a lot of thought, consultation, and listening to the community, we decided that rather than a flat cancellation, we are transforming the Seabrook Lucky Trails 2020 event into a Virtual race event, so that everyone who wants to complete these races can do so.
The Virtual Seabrook Lucky Trails 5K will count towards the Texas 5K Series.
We want to make this as simple for you, and for us as possible.
- You can complete your virtual run from now up to
March 28, April 15April 30, 2020. Some of you have already done your runs, and we salute you! Great job! - Once you have completed your Virtual run, please submit your information to the verification form: SLT 2020 Virtual Verification Form
- Some folks picked up their packets during the official packet pick-up schedule. We were able to have one after-event pick-up, Saturday, March 21, at On the Run (2427 Bay Area Blvd, Houston, TX 77058) but a second, Saturday, March 28th was cancelled due to stay-at-home directives by authorities. We plan to re-schedule it as soon as stay-at-home orders are lifted and it is practical.
- If you did not pick up your packet and/or medal(s) during those times and prefer not to wait for a future in-person pick-up, we can mail your packets and your medals to you.
- The cost to cover postage for mailing one packet without medal is $5
- The cost for mailing medals (heavier) with or without packet is $10
- If you are asking for multiple runners packets or medals, to the same mailing address, you can add that information in the “Notations” field of the postage payment form. Be reasonable – don’t ask for us to mail 10 medals for $10 for example, make that two packets. When in doubt, contact us at [email protected] to ask.

For the 2020 Texas Marathon Triple, which included the Texas Marathon/Half on 1/1/2020, the Galveston Marathon/Half on 2/9/2020 and the Seabrook Lucky Trail Marathon on 3/14/2020, completion of the Virtual Seabrook Marathon or Half Marathon will qualify you to earn your swags (as long as you completed the other two races).
On refunds:
All registrants did check a waiver that indicated no refunds in case of cancellation, and that policy is also posted on our website. We understand you may still want to ask. Please consider the following before you contact us about that:
We were notified that the City of Seabrook was cancelling our permits on March12th, the day BEFORE the race. By that time, we had already incurred almost all the hard costs of the event including purchased of shirts, medals, bibs, food, drinks, etc.
The Seabrook Lucky Trail Event is a charity event. Running Alliance Sport will donate any funds remaining after paying vendors, to charity. Since Running Alliance Sport was founded in 2011 as a non-profit organization, we have donated over $914,000 to local charities including the Bridge Over Troubled Waters. We will be happy to provide a charity donation receipt on request. If you get your packet and medals, a donation receipt is not usually provided.
